Plant Protectors for The Fish pond

The plants that can be used as fish pond plant protectors are banana tree, cassava tree, and taro tree (in the javanese language is senthe).

The taro plant is not just as the protective plant, but it can also be used as feed for fish.

Seeds Fish Transportation

For easy carrying, fish-seeds are brought by a jerrycans/gallon that has been modified. Number of fish-seed which transported is adjusted with its size.

The National Program of Self-Supporting Marine and Fisheries Community Empowerment (PNPM Mandiri KP or PNPM MKP) was launched by the Minister of Marin

The launching of The National Program of Self-Supporting Marine and Fisheries Community Empowerment (PNPM MKP) was held on March 17 in Karang-Wuni, Wates, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. It was attended by the Minister of Marine-Fisheries, the Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare, the Local Government officials from various regencies of Yogyakarta to include the regencies of Kulon Progo, Sleman, Bantul and Gunung Kidul. Other attendees included the Head Office of Maritime and Fisheries, all related stake holders and the local community of Kulon Progo regency.

The National Program of Self-Supporting Community Empowerment (PNPM Mandiri) was launched in April 2007 by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. This national program becomes the framework and the reference for the implementation program of the poverty reduction programs which are based on the empowerment of community.

In 2009, the Department of Marine and Fisheries initiates a program which is integrated from its each echelon's programs. This program is called the National Program of Self-Supporting Marine and Fisheries Community Empowerment (PNPM MANDIRI-KP or PNPM MKP). The implementation of this program is coordinated by the Director of General Marine, Coastal and Small Islands through the Directorate of Coastal Community Empowerment. The main goal of PNPM-MANDIRI KP is increasing public welfare through the various component activities. This empowerment will take the time. Therefore its implementation of the program becomes a priority of that departement. Future, the PNPM-MANDIRI KP is expected to support the programs of the poverty reduction which are encouraging by the government, specially for the public and marine fisheries.
